About the Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Research Trials
What is the purpose of these clinical trials?
These trials are being conducted to test the safety and effectiveness of investigational drugs for type 2 diabetes.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Men and women between 18 and 79 years of age, who have type 2 diabetes that is not well-managed with:
- Diet and exercise only (and are not on, or have had only limited exposure to, any oral antidiabetic medications)
OR
- Either of the following oral thiazolidinedione (TZD) antidiabetic medications:
- Actos® (pioglitazone HCl)
- Avandia® (rosiglitazone maleate)
Study participation
If you are qualified and decide to participate in one of these clinical trials, you may receive, at no cost, study-related:
- Medical care
- Research medication
- Laboratory work and evaluations
- Glucose monitoring supplies
- Diabetic and nutritional counseling
You do not need medical insurance to participate.
